Two Women Dead After Vehicle Fled Milwaukee Police & Crashed Into Building; Driver Sought

Milwaukee Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Wednesday, June 28th, 2023, at approximately 12:54 a.m., on the 2300 block of W. Hopkins St.

Officers observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed in the area of W. Greenfield Ave and S. 19th St. After the vehicle disregarded a red traffic light on S. Cesar E. Chavez Dr. And W. Greenfield Ave., a traffic stop was initiated for reckless driving.

The vehicle fled from Milwaukee Police, and a pursuit ensued. The vehicle lost control and crashed into a vacant building on the 2300 block of W. Hopkins St. The two passengers of the vehicle, a 20-year-old Milwaukee female and a 28-year-old Greendale female, sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene after Milwaukee Fire Department provided life-saving efforts.

This is an ongoing investigation, and Milwaukee Police are seeking the vehicle’s driver. No other injuries were reported.
